Graphic Designer Jayaram Timalsina debuts with his novel Dhimahi, which was launched today in a grand ceremony at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi. The event was chaired by litterateur Bhuvanhari Sigdel, where poet and critic Mahesh Paudyal and Prof. Dr. Gyanu Pandey spoke about the book.
Prof. Dr. Gyanu Pandey shared her reading experience of the book. She said that the book doesn’t feel like a debut work as it presents philosophical ideas in a profound way.
Similarly, poet and critic Mahesh Paudyal praised the novel’s plot, character portrayal, and language, calling it powerful and impactful despite being Timalsina’s first work. He said that the book is also about friendship and a quest for spirituality. “I take the novel as an allegory. Characters are not individuals but a trend,” he added. He also said that Dhimahi is the outcome of long patience and that everyone should go the path of Dhimahi.
Author Jayaram Timilsina said that the novel is incomplete without the reader’s response.
The event, attended by a significant number of literary enthusiasts, was hosted by poet Mahesh Karki Kshitiz.
Published by Page turner, the book is priced 475 rupees.
