INLS Nepal Elects Its New Executive

International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), Nepal Chapter has elected its new executive committee for the term 2023-25. The committee was unanimously elected by the organisation’s life members in the Chapter’s ‘national convention’ held on Saturday in Kathmandu. Rajendra KC, the erstwhile vice president of the Chapter was elected President for the next term while Nirmal Raman Parajui and Manjila Sharma were elected his deputy. Ranjana Niraula was elected General Secretary while Sushila Khadka Hasina and Kamala Risal were elected Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Those elected executive members are Aakash Adhikari, Dr. Shanti Maya Giri, DR, Shanti Neupane Risal, Durga Shah Baba, Sita Bista Karki, Dr. Hiranya Gyawali, Suman Barsha, Dwarika Kuinkel and Indira Dhakal. The newly elected committee was sworn in soon after the election.

Earlier, the organization honoured veteran film maker and lyricist Yadav Kharel and renowned singer Prem Dhwaj Pradhan with Rashtrakavi Madhav Ghimire Song Award. The organisation also honoured senior artist Madan Das Shrestha, lyricist and poet Unnati Bohara Sheela, INLS former presidents Hom Nath Subedi, Radheshyam Lekali, Gita Khatri and Prakash Poudel Maila.

The convention was chaired by outgoing president of INLS Nepal Chapter, Sandhya Pahari, and graced as Chief Guest by senior critic Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi. The event was also attended by the organisation’s central Vice President Dr. Renuka Solu, central General Secretary Bimala Niraula, former advisor Prof. Dr. Khagendra Prasad Luitel, incumbent advisor Prateek Dhakal, and many life and BOT members, and other office bearers. Outgoing President presented Nepal Chapter’s financial report on behalf of the Treasurer while outgoing General Secretary Rishav Dev Ghimire presented his annual report and vision for future.
