The International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) is going to host the International Literary Convention in Lisbon marking International Women’s Day.
The INLS will hold its 8th International Literary Convention in Lisbon, Portugal from March 8 to 10.
According to information shared at a press conference held in Lisbon, the INLS has been holding conventions in different countries every year, and this time it is being held in a European country. NB Anjan, General Secretary of INLS Portugal, told RSS that the convention will gather Nepali language, literature and culture scholars, writers and literary figures from all over the world.
More than 100 litterateurs from more than 50 INLS chapters around the world will participate in the conference. This includes the Central Committee members, Board of Trustees, life members, writers, linguists, artists and culture experts.
Marking International Women’s Day, the convention is scheduled to discuss women’s participation in Nepali literature, a special discussion about Diaspora literature. In the three-day conference, awards will be distributed, new books will be launched, multilingual cultural programs and multilingual poetry symposium will be held and papers on various topics of language, art, literature and culture will be presented and discussed, said Anjan.
A panel discussion on Nepali literature and future challenges will be held with Nepali language, literature and culture experts. (RSS)
