Indira Chapagain’s ‘Drishti Gochar’ Launched

Indira Chapagain’s second micro-fiction collection Drishti Gochar has been launched during an event organized by Sirjana Abhiyan Samaj. The book was jointly launched by the guest attendees that included member of Language Commission Gopal Ashk, critic Hari Prasad Bhandari, Abhiyan’s secretary Dhruva Madhikarmi, and President of Hamro Laghukatha Kendra, Lata KC, jointly launched the book.

Speaking as the chief guest, Ashk emphasized the importance of using minimal words and avoiding redundancy in micro fiction writing. He praised the stories in Drishti Gochar for being thoughtful and impactful. Chief speaker Bhandari provided a critical analysis of the book, stating that Chapagain’s fictions are highly readable from a theoretical standpoint.

Laghukatha Kendra President KC extended birthday wishes to author Chapagain on her 53rd birthday and wished for the success of the book. Chairperson Madhikarmi highlighted that Sirjana Abhiyan has been actively promoting creative endeavors across various literary genres.

The event featured micro fiction readings by Angel Neelu, Ramesh Suvedi, Biren Malakar, and Shanta Timilsina, who read selections from Drishti Gochar. Published to mark Chapagain’s 53rd birthday, the collection includes 53 flash fiction stories covering contemporary themes.

During the program, Chapagain shared her thoughts on writing, while Mandira Chapagain hosted the event. The author’s daughter, Vinila Bhattarai, expressed pride in her mother’s dedication to literature despite her familial responsibilities.
