I have Sinned

Sushant  Thapa

I want to be soft-spoken.
Where did all the innocence go?
The age of disillusionment
Makes me short-tempered.
This is not poetry;
It is the ballad
Of a bleeding heart.
I want to be the master
Of soft diction,
Let it not prick a broken heart,
Let it be the museum of art.
O Father, I have sinned,
O Creator I visioned your death,
The one who creates,
O Father, I spoke in high-tongue
Against your morality.
I mistook your blessings
For curses.
I want to be soft-spoken.
I want to find a heart in me
That is not just
My inner appendage.
Bless me O Father,
For I spoke in anger
To the earthly lessons
Not even nature could
Go against and
Mistake to decipher.
