The Himavatkhanda Art, Literature, and Culture Conference is set to take place from March 14 to 16 in Kathmandu. Organized by the Madan Bhandari Art and Literature Foundation, the conference aims to explore and celebrate the civilizations, cultures, and knowledge traditions that have flourished in the Himavatkhanda region.
According to Dr. Vijay Subba, Chairman of the Foundation and Coordinator of the Organizing Committee, the conference will focus on cultural exchanges among various ethnic communities, academic discussions on heritage and traditions, and research on the preservation and promotion of cultural values.
Scholars from all seven provinces of Nepal, as well as from India (Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand), China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Thailand, will present research papers on Nepali folk culture. Special addresses will be delivered by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Dr. Jagman Gurung, and former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling.
The conference will feature cultural performances, academic discussions, exhibitions, and a poetry festival.
