Hem Sarita Pathak Foundation Extends Poetry Submission Deadline

Hem Sarita Pathak Foundation has extended the deadline for the submission of poems for “International Poetry Competition against Corruption”. The new deadline, according to the Foundation is the last day of the month of Kartik this year. Earlier, the Foundation had set the end of Shrawan as the last date.

A press release issued by the Foundation has appealed the interested poets to send a copy of their original poem via email hemsaritapathak@gmail.com. Contestant are requested to send their computerized Nepali poems written in not more than 200 words. Any poem infused with political prejudice, defamatory remarks or an expression potentially disruptive to communal harmony will be deemed inappropriate for the selection, the notice says.

As per the announcement, the Foundation will first shortlist 25 best poems. The enlisted poets will be asked to send a video record of his/her recital to the Foundation within a certain deadline it will state later. The winner will be declared from among the shortlist and will be cash prized 100, 000 rupees, reads the announcement. An anthology of poetry will be published by the Foundation soon after the competition compiling the poems considered to be the best.
