Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation Announces the Winner of ‘Hem-Sarita Pathak International Music Award 2081’

The Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation based in Texas has announced the winner of the ‘Hem-Sarita Pathak International Music Award 2081’. According to the announcement, this year’s award will go to the song “Janatalai Ruwayo”. The competition aimed to campaign against corruption.

The award carries a cash prize of 1,00,000 rupees.

The decision was communicated through a letter issued by Radheshyam Lekali, the president of the foundation.

“Janatalai Ruwayo” was composed by renowned journalist Gopal Prasad Thapliya, with popular singer and composer Shishir Yogi providing the music and vocals. The song was selected by a committee coordinated by senior musician Premaraja Mahat.

Gopal Prasad Thapliya, born in Sushpa Kshamawati in Dolakha on Ashoj 15, 2006 BS, has recorded a total of 17 songs, including numerous poems and songs published. He has also authored five books of stories and essays. Previously, Thapliya, also a freedom fighter, received the ‘Himalayan International Award’ for Best Lyricist.

Similarly, Shishir Yogi, born on Falgun 26, 2027 BS in Deukhuri, Dang, has recorded over 500 songs. He has been honored with awards such as Chinnalata Geet Puraskar, Narayan Gopal Yuwa Sangeet Puraskar, and Ramesh Vikal Samman.

The foundation also presents the Tank Prasad Ramdevi Pathak Journalism Award, which includes a cash prize of 2,00,000 rupees.

The foundation has announced that an event will be held in Kathmandu soon to distribute the award.
