Geeta Adhikari’s Essay Collection ‘Mera Kalamka Dobharu’ Launched

Journalist and lyricist Geeta Adhikari’s essay collection ‘Mera Kalamka Dobharu’ was launched on Tuesday in Kathmandu during a special ceremony. The book was unveiled by Nepal’s first actresses, Chaityadevi Singh and Bhuvan Chand.

Adhikari, who previously brought Maile Padhheka 51 Pustak to readers, launched Mera Kalamka Dobharu on her birthday.

The event was attended by prominent figures including veteran actor Uttam KC, Lyay Sangroula, former president of the International Nepali Literature Society (ANESAS) and president of the Nepali Literary Journalists Association, Radheshyam Lekali, renowned musician Raju Singh, president of the Songwriters Association Basanta Bityasi Thapa, former president of the Songwriters Association Chudamani Devkota, senior lyricist Shantipriya, senior lyricist Amar Bantu, and Shobha Aryal, president of the Kathmandu branch of the Nepal Journalists Association. They all praised Geeta’s contributions to journalism and social causes, extending their congratulations and best wishes for her new work.

At the event, Adhikari shared that she had compiled her articles, previously published in Milap magazine and various other publications, into Mera Kalamka Dobharu.

Krishna Bhusal, president of Milap Publication, spoke about the magazine and noted that the author had documented her articles through this book.

In addition to her work in entertainment journalism, Geeta is also active in songwriting. Some of her well-known songs include Yatai Ghamailo Utai Ghamailo, Tijama Brat Basi, Bajaaudai Chura, Shwas Pheri, and Chhammchhamm.

The 477-page book, published by Milap Publication Pvt. Ltd., is priced at NPR 999.
