Forever is Delusional

Ujjwal Katel

I want to fill you in my canvas,
Staring all night with my languid eye,
Clearing the shadows from my heart,
Gazing at you endlessly before I die.

In a room closed by blank, bare walls,
All I see is a beautiful hologram of you.
I want to tell you how flawless you are,
Admiring you as the most cherished view.

Your smile awakens the charm in me,
Erasing sorrow, bringing joy and cheer.
But life seldom goes as we design,
So, let’s bear the reality before it veers.

There is no such thing that lasts forever,
Perhaps we’re not destined to stay.
With time, we’ll grow and glow someday,
You’ll be missed, my dear, but not always.
