Kathmandu: Radhika Shakya’s autobiography, Karuna, has been launched.
In a ceremony held today, the book was unveiled by author Shakya, Nepal Communist Party (UML) Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, writer Amar Nyaupane, and singer Ani Choying Dolma, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as the chief guest.
The book launch coincided with the 37th wedding anniversary of Prime Minister Oli and First Lady Shakya.
Author Shakya shared that her autobiography reflects her perspectives, experiences, and feelings, while also covering Prime Minister Oli’s struggles, hardships, achievements, and contributions to society. The book details Shakya’s childhood, education, career, and the ups and downs of her life, including various aspects of her journey after marrying leader Oli.
“I am neither a literary writer nor an author, but I used to write down my thoughts. This collection has now taken the form of a book,” Shakya said. “Since childhood, I have felt deeply for the poor, the suffering, the sick, and the helpless. I married KP Oli with compassion.”
