Writer Dr. Amar Karki’s short story collection Kshitijpari has been released amid a special event organized by the Literary Journalists’ Association. The book was jointly unveiled in the presence of a significant number of literary enthusiasts, with noted litterateur Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Shrestha remarked that Kshitijpari offers a new message to society and carries a sense of freshness in its storytelling. He praised Dr. Karki’s creative potential and extended his best wishes for further literary success.
Special guest fiction writer Maya Thakuri congratulated Dr. Karki and wished him continued growth in his creative journey.
Literary critic Prof. Dr. Govindaman Singh Karki reviewed the twelve stories included in the collection, emphasizing how they reflect various dimensions of society and encourage thoughtful engagement among readers. He appreciated both the subject matter and narrative style of the stories, noting Dr. Karki’s distinctive voice as a storyteller.
During the event, author Dr. Karki shared heartfelt reflections on his literary journey, the inspiration behind his stories, and the deep influence of his mother in his life. He also recited two of his poems, Aama (Mother) and Naya Barsha (New Year).
President of the Literary Journalists’ Association, Radheshyam Lekali, shed light on the objective and importance of the event and spoke about the Association’s role. He expressed confidence that Dr. Karki’s work would contribute a new dimension to Nepali literature.
The event was emceed by writer Manjila Anil, while Keshav Parajuli from the publishing house Bhundipuran shared insights on the book’s publication process.
On the occasion, Dr. Karki was also honored. Similarly, tokens of love were presented to the chief guest, special guests, and keynote speaker, along with literary personalities Vikrambhakta Joshi, Usha K.C., Rajan Neupane, and singer Ritu Kandel.
