Dhakal’s Poetry Collection ‘Hiuñka Gucchaharu’ Released

Poet Shibu Dhakal’s poetry collection “Hiuñka Gucchaharu” was launched during a literary event organized by the Lyricists’ Foundation of Nepal in Pokhara on Saturday. The book was made public by the former chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Bhakta Raj Shrestha ‘Sarubhakta.’

Speaking at the event, senior litterateur Sarubhakta expressed that Dhakal’s poems carry a philosophical essence. He remarked that a poet reflects the emotions of the environment in which they were raised. He also emphasized the importance of continual writing, regardless of critics’ opinions.

Reviewing the book, Dr. Baburam Adhikari noted that Dhakal’s poems depict a comprehensive picture of Nepali society. “Dhakal’s poems somewhat demand intellectual readers as they express mature thoughts and ideas,” he said.

Author Shibu Dhakal shared that he has depicted the experiences and observations of his life in his poems. Dhakal has previously published an English novel titled “Quest for Virginity.”

Presided over by the vice-president of the Foundation, Anurag Adhikari, the event was hosted by secretary Rupindra Prabhavi. The event featured an introduction of the author Dhakal by Milan Timilsina and best wishes remarks by Shivalal Upadhyaya.

The collection, containing a total of 61 poems, was published by Page Turner Pvt. Ltd.
