Death

Shobha Dhungana

One who comes shall go, we know,
Arrival and departure, his show.
Entangling each in different names,
Relation’s confined in many frames.

We, beings of this mortal world,
In temporary life, many folds unfurl.
We may survive as fate dictates,
Yet death alone patiently waits.

All entrants share equal footing,
The Creator’s care for all, unending.
The fruits we reap from our toil,
Our sustenance from the same soil.

Beyond this journey, new forms await,
How and where, unknown our fate.
Our souls may wander, here and there,
Under the Almighty’s loving care.

So, embrace death with positive light,
It’s not the end, but crescendo a flight.
When one heads to eternity,
Let’s pray for their serenity.
