Chayadevi Chetanath Gazal Puraskar has been presented to gazal artists Basanta Oli ‘ Basanti’ and Pradip Rodan . The award was distributed during a literary event organized at Hotel Drishya, Kalanki, Kathmandu on Saturday.
Basanti’s gazal collection titled ‘Boi’ and Pradip Rodan’s gazal collection ‘Muffler’ received Chayadevi Chetana Gazal Gazal Puraskar for 2078 and 2079 respectively.
Gazal artists Rabi Pranjwal, Karuba Thapa, Amar Neupane, award founder J. Sagar and his parents Chayadevi Parajuli and Chetnath Parajuli had presented the award to the recipients.
The event also featured gazal presentation by award recipients Basanti and Rodan, and a special musical performance by singer Raj Sigdel.
The event was moderated by award coordinator and director of Bulbul Publication Achut Ghimire.
The award, established five years ago by litterateur J. Sagar after his parent’s name, is presented every year to the best gazal anthology published in a given year. The award price is 10,000 rupees.
