Biographer Gopal Parajuli Passes Away

Renowned writer and biographer Gopal Parajuli has passed away. According to family sources, Parajuli, a heart patient for a long time, succumbed to a sudden attack at his own home in Baneshwar on Wednesday evening. He had had two attacks earlier and was on constant medication. He was 85.

Parajuli’s most remarkable contribution to Nepali literature is his eight books of biographies titled Pachhis Pratibha. The series includes biographies of writers and artists who are no longer alive. Some of them have also been translated and published in English. His biographies are considered authentic sources of information for students, teachers and researchers. Besides biographies, author Parajuli has also written poems and fictions for children. He is survived by his wife, two sons and their families.
