Bikram Bhakta Joshi Honored with ‘Asia-Nepal International Nobel Literature Award – 2024’

Bikram Bhakta Joshi, the author of ‘Chobhar Blues,’ has been awarded the prestigious “Asia-Nepal International Nobel Literature Award – 2024” for his significant contributions to Nepali literature.

The award was presented at an event organized by Shaili Media Network Pvt. Ltd., where several notable figures were also honored, including lyricist Prakash Kuinkel, senior journalist Shyam Smriti, Bhuchung Tamang (Chairman of Aamachodingo Rural Municipality, Rasuwa), Lion Rajesh Himalaya, and Thai NRN Kumar Karki.

The ceremony saw participation from Lions and Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) representing various countries.

Joshi made his literary debut with the successful works ‘Chobhar Blues’ and the children’s picture storybook ‘Bekhaman ra Rakshesh.’ His first book, ‘Chobhar Blues,’ published by Sahityapost, was shortlisted among the top three for the “Sahityapost Uttam Aakhyan Puraskar – 2079” (2022). Furthermore, the book was declared the Book of the Year 2079 by the Nari Srasta Samaj.

Although Joshi entered the Nepali literary scene later in his career, he rapidly established himself as a leading figure and is recognized as the pioneer of the new genre “Nikatha.”
