American citizen Dr. Barbara Nimri Aziz’s book titled ‘Justice Stories’ has been launched in Marysville city of North Carolina amid a literary program. Published by Shangri-La Books, the book launch event was organized by the members of Nepal Centre of North Carolina Teen Council.
The book was jointly launched by the members of Nepal Center of North Carolina Teen Council Aayug Poudel, Shudhashu Nibha Kunwar, Sejal Ghimire, Shreeya Kunwar, Sejel Ghimire and Shreeya Kunwar.
The book, specially written for the children of aged between 13 to 15 years old, is based upon the life story of Yogmaya and Durgadevi Ghimire.
The event was attended by different litterateurs, social workers, parents and students. Social worker Ishwor Devkota, senior fiction writer Dr. Nilam Karki Niharika, litterateurs Dr. Rishi Bastakoti, Dr. Harihar Bhattrai, Dr. Baskar Kunwar and NCNC president Ram Poudel were among the guest attendees.
Speaking in the event, Dr. Susma Pradhan said that children books are the current need for the students especially in Nepali context. She also saw the need of establishing children library in order to develop reading culture among the children.
After the book launch, an interaction session between author Barbara Nimri and the participants was carried out where the parents kept several questions to the author.
The program was presided over by the president of Carolina Nepali Literary Society Shihir Khanal.
