Author and Journalist Rajendra Parajuli Passes away

Journalist and renowned fiction writer Rajendra Parajuli has passed away. According to family sources, Mr. Parajuli breathed his last on Tuesday night in Kathmandu. He had been admitted to B&B Hospital for the treatment of pneumonia. He was 59.

Parajuli’s fame as a writer rests in his story collections Jadoma Bhok, Sapanama Marx, Shukraraj Shastriko Chasma, Aghori and Jantarmantar, while Koteshwaroko Keto is his maiden memoir. His writing iswidely acclaimed as one bringing Kathmandu’s suburb into mainstream Nepali fiction writing, and for the political issues of general concern he picked. He is also appreciated for amalgamating literature and journalism through his efforts.

He devoted more than three decades in mainstream media, and worked for Himal Khabar Patrika, Nagarik daily, Arthik Abhiyan, Nepali Samacharpatra, Bahrakhari and other media houses.
