Gyanendra Bibash’s new essay collection, Ardhakadko Avasan, has recently been published. Already well-established in the fields of essay writing, travel literature, art, and cultural commentary, Bibash has also authored several illustrated biographies and art essays.
Ardhakadko Avasan marks Bibash’s fifteenth book, featuring over three dozen essays. Published by Bhundipurān Prakashan, the collection covers 36 essays on various subjects.
According to the book’s preface, the essays primarily convey vivid experiences of nature, love, and life through an artistic and evocative writing style. The book is also regarded as a comprehensive representation of contemporary Nepali life, culture, nature, art, and literature.
The thoughts and emotions expressed in Ardhakadko Avasan are deeply profound. The descriptive details and imagery within the essays serve as a documentation of Nepali society. They reflect on the significant events that have shaped the country and its people, as well as the disparity in how the state provides services to its citizens, both in the short and long term. These essays are rich with factual and insightful commentary.
The book includes a commentary by senior cultural expert and essayist Tejeshwor Babu Gwong, who asserts that Bibash’s essays skillfully convey the emotions they seek to express and provide readers with a sense of enjoyment.
Similarly, Shree Om Shrestha, president of Nepal Srashta Samaj, mentions in his commentary that the essays are enriched by the writer’s extensive knowledge and experience, which makes them emotionally engaging, intellectually insightful, artistically crafted, and logically sound. He adds that they reveal the subtle truths of nature, life, and society.
The preface also states, “Each essay, with its keen literary sensitivity to the beauty of nature, will captivate readers and win their affection.”
