Actor Rajballabh Koirala’s Poetry Collection ‘Aura’ Launched

Renowned actor Rajballabh Koirala’s poetry collection Aura has been launched during a grand ceremony at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmanduu on Saturday.

The book was jointly launched by actor Koirala, poet Biplav Pratik, writer and journalist Ashwini Koirala, journalist Dilbhushan Pathak, and artist and film director Deepashree Niraula.

Poet Pratik praised Aura’s design, calling it as captivating as its poems. He advised reading one poem a day for true enjoyment and encouraged Koirala to publish another collection.

Artist-director Deepashree Niraula highlighted the importance of encouragement and courage for artists and thanked Biplav Pratik and Ashwini Koirala for motivating Rajballabh. Similarly, journalist Dilbhushan Pathak noted that poetry is not just about emotions but also about capturing time.

Actor Koirala expressed that both actors and poets are emotional, saying, “Both artists and poets are sentimental, and my heart is filled with love from all of you. I used to post my poems on Facebook, but I often found them reposted on others’ walls without credit. Even when I requested proper attribution, many ignored it. This book is my way of preserving my creations.” Koirala also thanked everyone present and recited a few poems from Aura.

Ashwini Koirala, the editor-in-chief of Sahityapost and chairperson of the event, shared that he has been familiar with Koirala’s poetry for a long time and expressed happiness in publishing the collection through his own institution.

The event began with a welcome speech by Icefall Production’s director RK Pokhrel. Poet Pratik, Dilbhushan Pathak, Deepashree Niraula, and Rasik Raj, among others, also recited poems from the collection.

The book has been published by Shabda Media Pvt. Ltd. (Sahityapost).
