A Love Letter

Bibekanand Kumar ‘Agyat’

Dear Heart,
O! Dear heart beyond the physical part,
Of unknown place and unknown name,
Your faceless flowery face,
Your soundless sound in silence.
Though I know not your existence,
You reside in me, or I dwell in you.
And I know you don’t emerge due to me.

I know not my heart.
How can I myself evaporate into you?
But I am profoundly in love, in…your…love.
The eyes rain, melting the frozen snow rock of millions of years,
With the warmth of your love, my heart.
And an unseen, spontaneous stream flows.

The mouth cries, yells, wails—
I don’t know why.
But there becomes a light, and I become light.
The heart beats…fast…hard…
When a layer falls down,
From the sight to see your sight,
Which I don’t know whether it exists or not.

Now, each moment I’m erasing into you.
I don’t know how long it takes…moments or years or infinite.
But it’s decided:
The war within me,
In love, in the love of thee,
Shall remain continuous till the death of me or till you bloom into me.

I have a hopeless hope to be within you.
I don’t know whether I shall gain you or not.
But the joy is that
Your love is ever with me.
And in love, the journey is easy—
As a floating dove,
My anonymous love.

Your Mad Lover
