Shobha Dhungana
A quest to survive,
In the name of “self,” we strive—
Yet toward nature, we are hostile
As sands slips from our fingers
Helplessly hanging on moments
To remain alive
We come and go
As guests of nature although
We search for
Shades of happiness, peace, harmony
In wealth and wish fulfillments
We seek for treasures more than we need
Greed spoils
Are we gathering debris for disposal?
Time has set its call
For everything to crumble and fall
Wings clipped on a mid-flight
A flame snuffed without light
A drop of water suspended midair
Somewhere in space
Life is vast
From there to nowhere, the journey is same
