With the slogan ‘Literature for Tourism’, the 3rd Illam Literature Festival 2080 is scheduled to be held on March 29 and 30.
Organized for the third time, the festival aims to develop Illam as a hub of art and literature. The organizers are determined to enhance Illam’s art and culture through literature and to foster connections with tourist cities.
The festival’s purpose is to promote cultural development in Illam by fostering a reading culture, inspiring new books, and sharing knowledge related to Illam’s unique culture. Additionally, the festival aims to facilitate discussions on various topics including agriculture, economics, tourism, and biodiversity conservation in Illam
The two-days festival will be attended by nearly two hundred poets, writers, artists, politicians, conservationists, and filmmakers from various parts of Nepal and India.
The festival will commence on March 29 at 10 am at the Gautam Buddha Hall, inaugurated by the Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Bhupal Rai.
“We believe that the festival will help in effectively managing the tourism, economy, and academic fields in Ilam,” said Prakash Thamsuhang, the festival organizer.
