12Khari Media Announces ‘DishHome Sixth Barakhari Story Writing Competition-2081’

12Khari Media has officially announced the ‘DishHome Sixth Barakhari Story Writing Competition-2081’ during a press conference held in Kathmandu on Monday.

The competition invites story writers from around the globe to participate by submitting their original Nepali stories to 12Kharibooks@gmail.com by the 5th of Kartik. As per the guidelines, submissions must be between 1,500 to 4,000 words and include a recent passport-sized photo, contact number, and a brief biography of the author.

An internal jury, led by editor Govinda Adhikari, will first select 50 stories from the entries, which will then be reviewed by a judicial committee that will shortlist 25 stories for the anthology ‘Best Story – 2080’. The top three stories will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 100,000, Rs. 60,000, and Rs. 40,000, respectively. The remaining 22 shortlisted authors will each receive Rs. 5,000 along with certificates of recognition.

The 25 selected stories will also be published in an anthology titled ‘Best Story – 2080’, following the competition.

12Khari Books has been organizing the annual open story writing competition for the past five years, with this year marking the sixth edition.
