10 Poems Selected for ‘National Environmental Poetry Competition 2081’

Bharatpur Metropolitan City has announced the top 10 poems for  the ‘National Environmental Poetry Competition 2081’.

The selected poems include ‘Manchhe Ra Prithvi’ by Khagendra Atal, ‘Ventilator Ko Sahar’ by Parivesh Chapagai, ‘Paralokko Bato’ by Buddhibal Shrestha, ‘Indreni Sapana’ by Bharat Thapa, ‘Dharti Ko Bakpatra’ by Mani Sundar Koirala, ‘Ubhiye Afnai Chihan Mathi’ by Renuka Jisi, ‘Ananta Muskan’ by Samarpan Neupane, ‘Parbat Ko Yatrama’ by Sijan Shrestha, ‘Dharti Rahe Samma’ by Sulabh Adhikari, and ‘Chautaro: Ek Atmalap’ by Subash Sintan.

The competition was organized as part of the grand campaign “Visit Bharatpur Year 2024” under the main slogan “Let’s Explore Bharatpur” with the aim of promoting the tourism sector in collaboration with the private sector.

The Metropolitan City had called for the poetry submission by issuing an announcement on May 3, with a  deadline set for May 24. A  total of 245 poems were received for the competition, out of which the top 10 poems were selected.

The winners will be declared on June 1 during a ceremony that will be held at Umbrella Street, Patihani, Bharatpur-22. The event will feature a recital of the top ten poems, as informed by the program coordinator Bhupin.

The competition offers a cash prize of 30,000 rupees, 20,000 rupees, and 10,000 rupees to the first, second, and third place winners, respectively. Additionally, two participants will receive consolation prizes of 5,000 rupees each, along with certificates.
